The little differences...in MRM

"You know what the funniest thing about Europe is? (...) It's the little differences. I mean, they got the same stuff over there that they got here, but it's just there it's a little different". John Travolta alias Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction, 1994

MRM functionality shows little differences too. We assumed before there are differences in functionality between the European and North American MRM software. Now we can proof this was the case in 2006, based on our research for the MRM vendor list.

We suggested that American projects have a stronger focus on finance, reporting and accountability than European MRM projects, because of strict legislative rules like SOX.

Take a look at the table below. Where in 2006 there was a big difference, in 2008 it looks like the European MRM vendors are catching up with the North American market.

MRM Reporting Functionality20062008
North America60%68%
Europe36%56%

One additional remark is appropriate. The percentage only tells us a reporting functionality is available, not how sophisticated or mature it is. It's likely we find there too, "little" differences...
